Mhhmm... French macarons!! Sweet and delicate - a classic French
desert. Macaroon fans worldwide make pilgrimages to the Parisian
bakery Ladureée to gaze upon, buy and feast on dozens of exciting
flavors - Chocolate, Vanilla, Raspberry and Pistachio, the latter a
customer favorite, along with Salted Butter Caramel and Raspberry.
They're the best macarons in the world!! And that's not saying a
little - the 'real' macaron is extremely difficult to make because
they're not supposed to have any cracks in the surface and have to
have 'feet', which is the slightly rippled bottom part of the
macaron. Yum.
Ladurée does not reveal many secrets in parting with this recipe
and you'd need to get your hands on the same flavorings and
fillings used there, and have the same deft hand at macaroon-making
as those gifted professionals, if trying to imitate them. But a
large part of the skill is knowing what flavors of meringue to pair
with what flavors of filling. However, there's always ways to come
up with something faster, and far more reasonably priced, than a
trip to Paris - getting busy in the kitchen will most certainly
score many points with desert loving friends and the internet is
starting to blossom with recipes, that aren't too difficult to
follow! They might not turn out exactly like the ones you find at
Ladurée, but they're definitely still extremely tasty.
