Sept 10
As summer transitions into autumn, and the air is cooler and
crisper, one cannot help but be a little nostalgic for the first
day of school. It wasn't just about showing off a new
wardrobe. It was a feeling of change and newness, perhaps how
you've matured over the summer. The first day of school meant
a new beginning, a new year of possibilities.
While we may not be in school any more, why shouldn't we get into
the back to school spirit? Danish-born designer, Peter
Jensen, captures the spirit perfectly in his Autumn 2010 Collection
debuted in New York Fashion Week. With the backdrop of his
runway a classroom, Jensen showcased Lolita-style dresses in
velvety plaids, baby blues and golden yellows. A modern
girl's school uniform.
The first boyfriend. The trip down memory lane would be
incomplete if we don't reminisce about our first boyfriend.
How we used to take his well-worn sweatshirt, as if it were a
talisman, wrap it around ourselves, warm and safe. Today, the
thought of going outside in your boyfriend's old sweatshirt
horrifies the fashionista in all of us. Alexander Wang's
French Terry Sweatshirt provides slim and luxurious
alternative.
